Bursting strength

The pressure a sheet of board withstands before a rubber diaphragm pushes through it.

In practice

For corrugated board the method is TAPPI T 810. Bursting strength is what "Mullen" or "200 lb test" refers to; it tracks puncture and rough-handling resistance more than stacking strength.
