Box compression test (BCT)
The top-to-bottom load an empty box carries before it fails, measured between two platens in a compression tester.
In practice
Test methods include ASTM D642 and TAPPI T 804. The McKee formula estimates BCT from the board's ECT, its caliper and the box perimeter, which is how Packgent computes every BCT figure on this site.
